This one will be a short one. Okay first and foremost, I wonna preface by saying that I love Hetzner. All my homies love Hetzner. Hetzner is the best European provider out there for Virtual Private Servers, dedicated servers, etc. And yes my company is kinda technically a competitor to Hetzner, but we basically live off Hetzner for our cloud infra so.... ANYWAY!
7 months ago, I got an intel VPS for the price of 4.08euro. That VPS was pretty simple, I only needed it to run 2 Discord bots and something else that I don't remember now lol. It had 1vCPU, 2GB and 20GB of storage.
Well a few months ago they deprecated this plan, and to be very fair I didn't really bother at the time (or any time afterwards) to check what other plan they offered.
Here's how it looked:
I got to repurpose that VPS for something else, and hit the disk limit pretty quickly, so I decided to see into upgrading it (Hetzner calls this 'rescale')
And I realized... the only 4.08euro plan was this:
2 VCPUS, 4 GB OF RAM AND 40GB OF STORAGE!! GOD DAMN!
Is exactly what I said, out loud, when I saw this.
You can probably guess what my face looked like as well.
Welp.
For the past IDK how many months, this server could have run with slightly more resources, for free. Hetzner stole 2GB of RAM from me.
