Hello world!
I have decided to upgrade my website a little bit, I really love yapping and I don't have time to make YouTube content, or write on Twitter ("X" 🤓) and be limited by the char counter!
I want to dedicate this blog on just writing anything that comes to my mind, from random thoughts about things, to tech things I find and discover to ideas I have and questions on them.
I don't know how organized this blog will be, or how controlled it will be, however as I am using Ghost it gives me quite a few possibilities. Before you ask, why Ghost and not something like WordPress? Well WordPress is perfect for blogs or websites generally where you just have posts. Ghost seems to cater this specific demographic for blogs (and newsletters too apparently) and seems to be doing it in a simple, yet powerful way. Like for example, the on boarding for Ghost was as simple as setting my account (name, pwd, etc.), modify the design and get going.
You could argue, WP has the same amount of on-boarding requirements, but the UI is just 'cluttered' with more advanced features that I simply don't need. I just want to write words, post them and be done with it. Ghost achieves this. I also like to try new things out, and Ghost came on my radar while searching for such alternatives, so I thought to give it a shot! So far it seems pleasing and enjoyable to use, and it also allows me to monetize my posts, which is cool! I don't think for now I will make any monetized posts, but the idea is there and it gives me this ability to help me continue my passion and reward folks reading my yap! Oh and also, my work deploys and configures WordPress like it's candy, so I kinda don't want to deal with it on my free time as well 😛
Anyways, I don't want to take more of your time for now, and go on for hours on how this could let me write more stuff and what not so I will just get on it. I have some work projects to finish, as well as keep revamping my personal server, so I might write something about this later!
Stay tuned, feel free to subscribe to the newsletter (promise I won't spam you, only e-mail you will ever get from me is going to be for new posts - oh and friendly tip, if you have iCloud or something similar, use a privacy shield when providing your email online! only banks should have your legit email address!)
That's it for now, have a lovely day!
